Herbal Recipes for Acne Treatment

When experimenting, try one recipe at a time so that if you react by developing a rash or irritation, you can easily identify and stop using what you are reacting to.
As these preparations don’t have preservatives, store them in the refrigerator and use them within 2-5 days. Finally, give the remedies 2-4 weeks before you declare them ineffective. 

1. Calendula Toner
Steep calendula flowers in boiled water for 15 minutes. Let it cool then use as a toner.

Dietary Therapy for Acne

1. Eat foods with low glycemic index
Patients with acne vulgaris should be encouraged to eat foods with a low glycemic index preferably less than 70, in order to reduce insulin levels as this is beneficial for the management of acne.
Examples of foods with a glycemic index of less than 20 include:  Low fat yogurt, Peanuts, Broccoli, Cucumber, Green beans, Lettuce, Spinach, Tomatoes
